GemFest Delivers Multifacited Fun
by Jim Molkenthin

For years, the Grey Eagle Classic Bike Tour puts the petal to metal ...pavement... each GemFest. And for years, coming around the corner on Highway 28 into Swanville this scene greated me at the Lake Pepin access in Swanville. And for years, the cyclists have looked forward to "Wet Your Whistle" buffet provided by Linda Wershing and Nancy Marty. The fruits, juices, cold water and pickles topped  off with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich are almost as refreshing as the wit and wisdom off these wayside saints. And then it's off to tackle the big hills between Swanville and the Grey Eagle valley.
