Burtrum's 1st Annual Hot Rod Show a winner
You could hear the rumble on Saturday, July 30, 2005 as cars came into Burtrum for the 1st Annual Hot Rod Show sponsored by the Brighter Days Family Church in Burtrum. On Friday, July 29, Ed and Luann Walker presented a concert of Gospel music followed by the "antics and many faces" of Barry McGee, shop chaplain for Richard Childress Racing, NASCAR Team.
A hot and humid Saturday welcomed the hot rod, collectable and classic cars as they churned into Burtrum and parked on the lawn of the old Burtrum school. Spectators and judges looked over the  cars and picked the winners in various classes.
The outdoor church service capped off the weekend with McGee giving the inspirational sermon. Afterwards, the audience was treated to a fellowship and a free lunch.
